The Media Keeps Score
As those of you who know me know, I am a real news addict. Newspapers, tv, internet, radio, I can't get enough. Trouble is with all of our 24 hour media outlets, the myriad of talking heads, there really is not enough news at one time to be talked about. So we get this analysis, that is really the news equivalent of junk food. It's fast, it is immediatly gratifying, and it has very little value.
Due to our need for instant gratification, we want instant history. We want someone to explain to us what the story is, and how it will end, and why it ends that way. The trouble is, even with the luxury of hindsight, it takes a talented historian to make any sense of events. It takes a true genius to do so in real time, and the bunch we have doing so are clearly not geniuses. So, what we end up with is news commentary delivered as a sporting event, welcome to PGA Lebanon:

"The pressure is really on Isreal, historically the dominant player in this region, but up against the tough rookie Hizballah, who scored a big upset in the 2000 PGAL."
"Thats right Bob, Israel, a 62 handicap player, just can't seem to shake off this young upstart."
"Israel steps up to the tee, he will need a birdie to stay with Hizballh, he lines up his shot, swings, oh, this can't be good, right into the Qana sand trap!"
"That's gonna cost him."

The fact is, this is not a game, it's war and the fact that Hizballah is playing with a bigger handicap makes no difference. They can declare victory all that they want, Hizballah's endurance will gain them no reward, it will only destroy their country.

I feel little sympathy for the plight of those in Soutern Lebanon. Hizbollah is not a ragtag group of guerillas hiding in secret. They are well organized and popular in Lebanon. They even have their own hospital! The fact that the Lebanese have accepted this group coupled with the Lebanese government turning a blind eye makes them complicit. Israel has the right to defend itself against any group that has vowed it's destruction.

Hizballah should have made a phone call before nabbing those IDF troops who were INSIDE Lebanon, unless Shebaa Farms moved to Israel while no one was looking.

But, after all, isn't illegal occupation what this is all about? How dare the region's population show determined force against the descendents of the Stern Gang and others who invented the plant the bomb, run and watch, and then cry over the audacity of the 'terror' when employed in retaliation.

I wonder if the American theocrats who are bent on converting the Israelis to 'christianity', and sending billions of money to that end, know that the Israelis are laughing at them.... of course, the Israelis may not be aware that this same cult wants to rid the state of Jews as well, sort of like the movie "Close Encounters", waiting for the arrival of the 2nd coming... JC returns to Israel as a rabbi... page 2....

To Anonymous,
Sorry to trouble you with a few little details that seem to have escaped your attention. The two kidnapped Israeli
soldiers we nowhere near Sheba Farms, they were in soverign pre 1967 Israel (even Hizballah acknowleges this). Also, Sheba Farms is not part of Lebanon, but don't trust me, ask the UN and Syria.
Good thing you are Anonymous, perhaps when you get your facts straight, you will post with a name.

Anonymous,

The fact that you even flinch from posting your name to the comment shows that you belong to the fittest category of supporters the Hezbollocks can ever have-Braindead Arabs who still think that the whole world is some kind of fiefdom for the Arab to fester

Whatever Israel does, its gotta be wrong!!! Ain't It?

No matter what they do the Arabs can never err!!!

How very sickeningly simple!!!

Or is it the guttertrash Mullahs from Iran who can never err?

Given the hindsight that a whole lot of Lebanese are paying and will continue to pay for sleeping with the Mullahs I find hard to sympathize with such drecks, despite the sheer exhibition of corpses for the MSM, which would have shamed a taxidermist.

As Gen.Schwarzkorpf put it rather well,"........Israel's aim would be to arrange a prompt meeting [for the Hezbollah] with Allah.."

Israel has been attacked, yet the world continues to deny its right to defend itself. The UN continues to prove what a hoax it is, particularly when it comes to protecting Israel. The world spent hundreds of millions of dollars funding these UN troops in Southern Lebanon, yet they kept a blind eye as thousand of thugs and missles were accumulating for years. And let's not fool ourselves. Those missles shipped in from Iran and Syria were not placed there to protect Lebanon from Israel. They were strategically smuggled in there to destroy Israel. If Israel buys into this UN cease-fire deal, they will prove that they are indeed morons. No longer can Israel trust the world, a world that continues to appease the Muslims who they claim are being "humiliated" by Israel's "occupation" and "stealing of land". At the end of the day, the Europeans and the rest of the world will learn the hard way, like they did with Hitler, that appeasement will result in their own demise. I just can't wait for the French to experience their first terrorist attack. Of course, they will be the first to explain this by saying that the Muslim outrage is due to Israel's aggression and "humiliation" of the poor Palestinians.

It will take a long time before the world realises the truth: that is, that Israel has nothing to do with the radical muslim cancer that is prevalent in this world. Were the Jews responsible for Hitler's insane animosity toward them? or were the Jews responsible for Hitler's ideology that persuaded millions of Germans to follow along and murder millions? Of course not. Hitler was pure evil and the Jews were his scapegoat. The relatively intelligent masses (remember the Germans were sophisticated people) went along with the Final Solution without any reservations. In comparision to today's ignorant muslim masses, this is what makes today's threat that much more dangerous and problematic. The muslim masses are so ignorant that they can be brainwashed into the mass suicide murderers that we now face today.

All the debates that we see today about the "Arab/Israeli" conflict really need to start with one fundamental question: "Does Israel have the right to exist"?

If one believes that Israel doesn't have that right to exist, then it is not worth taking these discussions/debates any further. Frankly, this is the entire Arab/Muslim world. Hence that is why the President of Iran, without shame, speaks loudly in public that Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth. This is why all the UN resolutions in the world won't do a damn thing until Iran is "wiped off the face of the earth". You see, the future of the world is at stake right now. And it has nothing to do with Israel, but everything to do with Iran, Syria, and all the other hornets nests out there that are spreading this cancer of radical muslim ideology.

Israel can disappear tomorrow and the radical muslims would still be trying to fight our western ideals. They would still find ways to murder us and disrupt our day to day existence.

What we see today between Israel and Hezbellah is a manifestation of the war that Iran is waging against the free world. All the History Professors from all the world's greatest Universities should be shot since none of them are seeing parallels between Iran and Hitler. To keep pointing the finger at Israel is to ignore that evil can and does exist in this world. Evil needs to be wiped out and not negotiated with. Could we have ever negotiated with Hitler?

This current cease deal is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. The fact that the world is not joining in to physically wipe out Hezbellah is just proving the stupidity of our world leaders. If it was anyone but the Jews, believe me, the world would have been more serious about combatting Hezbellah. If anyone thinks for a second that Hezbellah will be stopped by anyone but Israel, they are living in a dream world.
